Oops, did September really fly by so fast?
Maintaining a blog – even a real labor of love such as Life Despite Lupus (or LDL as I call it – though that makes me think about my cholesterol levels) – can drag along at some point. You run out of ideas, you wonder if anyone is even reading what you write, or if you’re actually helping people at all. Motivation can lag and life can get in the way. So, while on my “vacation” I have been brainstorming some new ideas to inject both myself and this site with a little new vitality.
Lupus News Round-up: I’ll be scouring the ‘net for interesting, quirky, heartfelt and/or informative lupus-related news items to share. If you come across any lupus news items (especially if you’re featured in them!), send me the link to appear on the site.
Download the Manifesto: This site started as a record of my personal journey with lupus, the chronicle of all the changes I made to reach the point that I’m at now: the jumpstarts and the setbacks. Those early posts paved the way for this site and a lot of my current philosophy about dealing with lupus. I’ve distilled a bite of my thoughts into Version 1.0 of the Life Despite Lupus Manifesto. It’s free to download and sums up the message I want to share with all lupus warriors. Click on the download link in the sidebar and don’t forget to share it with your friends.
To Twitter or Not to Twitter: I’m on the fence about having a Facebook page and/or Twitter account for the site. There are already so many lupus networks and communities that at this point I wonder if one more is really needed. I’d love to hear from my readers on this – are you part of an online lupus group? Would you like to see one created for LDL readers? Drop me a note.
Speaking of readers: Life Despite Lupus is for you as much as it is for me, so I want to know what you guys want to read about. I’ll be starting a mailing list to get your feedback on topics for posts, polls, interviews, news items, product reviews and other questions as well sharing special eyes-only downloads and hopefully other awesome things. Want in? If you’ve already subscribed to receive posts via email either through WordPress or Feedburner, then you don’t have to do a thing. However, if you’ve already subscribed through the WordPress Reader, then I don’t have your email address! Send it along with your name and your current digital hub so you don’t miss out on the chance to make your voice heard.
